Turkey is located predominantly in southwest Asia but is also in Europe. The larger area to the east of the Bosporus is in Asia and that to the left is in Europe. Turkey has shores along the Black Sea between Bulgaria and Georgia. Turkey also has shores along the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea between Greece and Syria. Turkey has a total of about 4,500 miles of coastline.
