Caribbean - Atlantic Ocean

Grenada is in the Caribbean and has about 75 miles of coastline. It was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1498. Grenada became known as the 'Spice Island' due to its large production of nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, ginger and cloves.

Grenada beach areas include Bathway Beach, Calabash Beach, Grand Anse Beach, Horsehoe Beach, Morne Rouge Beach, Lance Aux Epines Beach, La Sagesse beach, Levera Beach, Sauteurs Beach, St. David's Beach, and others. Most of the better known beaches of Grenada are in the southwestern corner of the island.

The Caribbean is to the west of the islands and the Atlantic Ocean is to the east.

Off the northeast coast of Grenada are the small islands of Green Island, Sandy Island, and Sugar Loaf. Off the southern coast are Hog Island and Calivigny Island.

On the east coast of Grenada from north to south are Antoine Bay, Conference Bay, Great River Bay, Grenville Bay, St. Andrew's Bay, Great Bacolet Bay, Crochu Harbour, Galby Bay, and La Sagesse Bay. On the southern coast from east to west are Clark's Court Bay and True Blue Bay. On the western coast from south to north are Canoe Bay, Morne Rouge Bay, Grande Anse Bay, St. George's Harbour, Grand Mal Bay, Halifax Harbour, Gouyave Bay, St. Mark's Bay, Crayfish Bay, and Duquesne Bay. On the north shore is Sauteurs Bay.

Grenada and its islands are well known for their diving possibilities.

Grenada shares the administration of some of the Grenadines with St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The islands under Grenada's administration include:
* Carriacou - has white sand beaches; approximately 13 square miles. On the east side of Carriacau from north to south are Watering Bay, Jew Bay, and Grand Bay. On the south side from east to west are Great Breteche Bay and Manchioneal Bay. On the west side from south to north are Limekiln Bay, Tyrrel Bay, L'Esterre Bay, Hillsborough Bay, and Sparrow Bay. This island is volcanic in origin and surrounded by reefs. Carriacau's name is derived from the Caribe word for "land surrounded by reefs". It is the largest of the Grenadines.
* Saline
* Frigate
* Ronde - northwest of Grenada and southwest of Carriacou
* Large
* Mabouya - in L'Esterre Bay on west side of Carricou
* Petite Martinique - approximately 3 miles east of the northern end of Carriacou. This island is volcanic in origin. The east side is uninhabited.
** Petite Mion and Petite Dominique are to the west of Petite Martinique
