The Caribbean is known for islands and the many beautiful beaches which accompany them. It is a natural to think of the Caribbean when you want to think of visiting beaches. In addition, the Caribbean islands are divided into smaller groups. There are the Greater Antilles and the Lesser Antilles. The Greater Antilles is made up of the Cayman Islands, Cuba, Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic), Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. The Lesser Antilles are made up of the Leeward Islands, Windward Islands, Leeward Antilles, and Trinidad and Tobago. The Leeward Islands are made up of Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the British Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Saba, St. Barts, St. Eustatius, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Martin, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Windward Islands are made up of Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Martinique, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Leeward Antilles are made up of Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, and a Venezuelan archipelago. In addition, there are the Netherlands Antilles which made up of the Leeward Antilles and some of the Leeward Islands, and these include Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, St. Eustatius, and St. Martin. Aruba was once part of the group. The Greater Antilles, the Lesser Antilles, and the Bahamas together make up the West Indies. Caribbean beaches!
