Albania is a country in southern Europe along the Adriatic Sea to the north and the Ionian Sea to the south on its western side. It borders Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia, and Greece. As a result of its location, its history has been influenced by many of the major empires. There are about 300 miles of shoreline.
