Baja California is located in northwestern Mexico. Baja California has shores on the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez). You can visit the port of Ensenada, which draws many tourists each winter to witness the migration of the gray whale. There are many beach areas along the long coasts of Baha California. Islands in Baja California include Isla Ballena, Isla Carmen, Isla Coronado, Isla Espiritu Santo, Isla Partida, Isla Las Animas, and Isla Los Islotes.

Baja California Sur is located in northwest Mexico on the shores of the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez). Baja California Sur has over 700 miles of coastline. Colima is located in southwest Mexico and has over 95 miles of coastline along the Pacific Ocean. Beach areas in Colima include Boca de Pascuales. Grey or black sand is volanic in origin; Colima has an active and an inactive volcano. Beach sand can also be pebbly or white in color. Islands in Colima include Isla Navidad and some volcanic islands. The resort area of Manzanillo is on the coast.
