The Pacific Ocean is home to many of the world's most beautiful beaches. It has an area of about seventy million square miles, making it the world's largest ocean, and over 25,000 islands of all shapes and sized, predominantly in the western and southern areas. The Pacific Ocean was discovered by Ferdinand Magellan.
