New Caledonia is a collection of islands located between Fiji and Australia in the South Pacific. The islands of New Caledona include Belep, Lifou, Mare, Ouvea, Tiga, and the Isle of Pines. Some of these smaller New Caledonia islands are part of the territory's Loyalty Islands. New Caledonia is the third largest island in the Pacific. The d'Entracasteaux Reefs, Bellona Reefs, Chesterfield Reefs, Fairway Reef, Walpole Island, Hunter Island, and Matthew Island are also part of the New Caledonia territory. There is a very extensive reef system which extends far out from the beaches of New Caledonia.
