Florida beaches surround the state of Florida. Starting in the west in the panhandle along the Gulf of Mexico, down the western side of the state, all through the Florida Keys, and up the eastern Atlantic shoreline, there are hundreds of miles of beaches. In northwest Florida, you will find Bay, Escambia, Franklin, Gulf, Jefferson, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, and Walton county beaches. Some localities within northwest Florida include Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City Beach, and Mexico Beach .In western Florida, you will find Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, Dixie, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lee, Levy, Manatee, Monroe, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, and Taylor counties. These counties have the Gulf of Mexico to their west or southwest. In eastern Florida, you will find Brevard, Broward, Duval, Flagler, Martin, Miami-Dade, Nassau, Palm Beach, St. Johns, St. Lucie, and Volusia counties. These counties have the Atlantic Ocean on their eastern facing shores.
