Lee County is in southwest Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. Beach areas in Lee County include Boca Grande, Bonita beach, Captiva Island, Cayo Costa, Estero Island, Fort Myers Beach, Gasparilla Island State Park, and more. The three rivers entering the Gulf from Lee County include the Caloosahatchee River, the Estero River, and the Imperial River. Manatee County beaches
Manatee County is in central west Florida along the Gulf of Mexico and has almost thirty miles of beaches. The cities of Manatee County include Anna Maria, Bradenton, Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, part of Longboat Key, and Palmetto. Beach areas in Manatee County include Anna Maria Bayfront Park, Cortez Beach, Coquina Beach, Cortez Beach, G.T. Bray Park, Greer Island, Longboat Key, Manatee Public Beach, and Palma Sola Bay. Monroe County beaches
Monroe County is at the southern tip of Florida. It starts on the mainland and then proceeds down the Florida Keys to Key West. Most of the population lives in the keys. Most of the mainland is occupied by Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve.

Sarasota County beaches
Sarasota County, formed from part of Manatee County in 1921, has beaches in central west Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. There are 34 miles of beach areas in Sarasota County, including Blind Pass Beach, Bonita Beach Park, Brohard Beach, Caspersen Beach, Crescent Beach, Dixie Beach, Fort Myers Beach, Gasparilla Island State Park, Lido Beach, Lighthouse Beach Park, Longboat Key, Manasota Beach, Nokomis Beach, North Jetty Park, Palmer Point Beach, Sand Spur Beach, Siesta Key Beach, Turtle Beach, Turner Beach, Venice Municipal Beach, and the causeway islands. Siesta Key is a barrier island off the coast of Sarasota; it is located in the Gulf of Mexico. Fossilized shark teeth can be found along Venice Beach. There is a reef offshore with fossilized materials. Municipalities in Sarasota County include Longboat Key, North Port, Sarasota, and Venice.
