Destin is situated in Okaloosa County, Florida, along the Gulf of Mexico. Destin is approximately 45 miles to the west of Panama City Beach, Florida and a few miles to the east of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Choctawhatchee Bay is along its northern and western shores and the Gulf of Mexico is along its southern shores. Highway 98 is the major east-west road through Destin.
