South Carolina State Parks (South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism) has four state parks along the ocean:
* Edisto Beach State Park
* Hunting Island State Park
* Huntington Beach State Park, and
* Myrtle Beach State Park.

Congaree National Park, Cowpens National Battlefield, Fort Moultrie National Monument, Kings Mountain National Military Park, Ninety Six National Historic Site, and Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail are administered by the National Park Service. They also administer Charles Pinckney National Historic Site and Fort Sumter National Monument, which are along the coast.

Interstate 26 leads to the beaches around Charleston. Interstate 20 heads east to connect to Interstate 95 which leads to beaches north of South Carolina.
